For me testing new cameras turns into extensive software tweaking exercises. The Nikon D7500 is not supported by older versions of Lightroom. Since Adobe switched to cloud-oriented subscriptions: meaning you keep paying to run their software and access your files. I have been moving away from Adobe products. This new body will accelerate this process. I’ve tried converting D7500 NEFs to DNGs which Lightroom 5 loads and tweaks without complaints. I may do this on occasion. I have also spent more time piddling with RawTherapee which can produce very decent results. So far the best tool for handling D7500 NEFs is Affinity Photo. I converted this image three different ways and compared the outputs. I liked the Affinity result the best.
