T-Rex skull in the Museum of the Rockies. It’s been awhile since I last visited the MOR. In the interim, a new large resident has moved in. This skull is part of an adult T-Rex skeleton. About half of the skeleton consists of original fossil material and the rest is reconstructed. When you enter the exhibit hall the sheer size of this critter makes you glad they’re not running around today. Many of the best T-Rex fossils have been found in Montana and when this fossil was found on public land many locals were concerned that it would be hauled out of the state and displayed elsewhere. We’re used to be screwed over here; fortunately, the Feds didn’t abscond with this T-Rex.
