This weekend we took a long loop drive up through Stanley, over to Mackay, and back through Craters of the Moon to Boise. It was too much driving for one day but we managed to scout out my remaining eclipse viewing locations. The Boise Astronomical Society is meeting in Stanley to view the total solar eclipse of August 21, 2017. We’ve been meaning to check out Stanley so we just hopped in the car and drove up. Stanley is a small town that bills itself as the gateway to the Sawtooths. The Sawtooths are fine glaciated mountains and we will have to go back and partake of the many hiking trails in the region.
