Fishing was and still is a big deal in many parts of Montana. Rivers run through many towns. The town of Livingston hosted a trout derby every summer for years. The prize used to be one thousand silver dollars for the largest trout caught. Of course this was before Federal Reserve driven money printing devalued the dollar and increased demand for silver turned a silver dollar into a twenty-dollar silver dollar. It’s still possible to catch trout like this in the Yellowstone and other local rivers. If trout shrank like dollars they would be the size of minnows now!
